Application of isothiazolinone fungicides in architectural coatings

Nowadays, high-efficiency, low-toxicity and water-soluble bactericidal preservatives have been used at home and abroad. These bactericides have high bactericidal efficiency, wide bactericidal spectrum, and are safe and reliable. Microorganisms capable of eroding paints involve bacteria, molds, yeasts and algae, and the main causes of spoilage are Gram-negative bacteria, especially the genus Escherichia and Pseudomonas, which grow on the coated film. The main microorganisms are molds and algae such as Aspergillus niger, Penicillium, Rhizopus and the like. It can be seen that to prevent the spoilage of paint, the most important thing is to control Gram-negative bacteria, especially the genus of the large intestine and Pseudomonas, that is, the added bactericidal preservative should have the best effect on Gram-negative bacteria. . If the coating film after painting is not mildewed, a preservative can be added at the same time as the dry film antifungal agent, and the two can be used together to achieve the antibacterial effect from beginning to end. If it is a ship primer, add an algicide to prevent the growth of algae.

The following points must be considered when selecting a paint sterilization antiseptic and antifungal agent:


(1) Requires broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties, high efficacy, long-lasting activity, stability in the pH range of 6-10, and low concentration.

(2) It is safe, non-toxic or low-toxic to human body, and has good biodegradability.

(3) Does not chemically react with other components of the coating, and does not affect the physical and chemical properties of the coating after film formation.

(4) Low volatility, good compatibility with coatings, easy to disperse.

(5) Good stability, UV resistance, heat resistance and oxidation resistance.

(6) Easy to use and affordable.
