Bactericide 950, an aqueous solution of CMIT/MIT with formaldehyde, is an efficient microbiostatic preservative for aqueous compositions. It is recommended for scenarios where use of formaldehyde is not suitable. It is mainly used in paintings, polymer emulsions, paper making and water treatment etc.

Features:

1) Not suitable for use in the alkaline medium of pH> 9.0. Any combination of this chemical with highly nucleophilic chemicals, like S2- and R-NH2, will lead to declined quality or even complete failure of the product.

2) Any contact with reducible metals is forbidden during storage, for example, iron and aluminum, so as to avoid decomposition.

3) In the water treatment applications, apply the solution at a dose of 50 to 100 ppm for one or two times each week depending on the multiplication of microorganisms like bacteria and algae. The concentration of using in paints or coatings is 0.05 ~ 0.4%.
